Imago Dei Institute Policy
Psychomoralitics: Imago Dei Institute employs the unique spiritual discipline & soul-deep intervention of psychomoralitics to bring about essential well-being and innermost peace by the remedying of essential mal-being & disorder. Psychomoralitics utilizes the most venerable understanding of the human person in a synthesis of natural law, ancient wisdom, & cutting edge science. By definition, process, and discipline, psychomoralitics is not a mental health profession. But psychomoralitics does “study and treat the soul,” whereas “psychology” (study of the soul) and “psychiatry” (treatment of the soul) do not even recognize the soul in their reductionistic, ineffectual, and harmful conceptualizations. Indeed, psychomoralitics is diametrically opposed to the mental health profession's conceptualizations, aims, and practices which due to the non-recognition of the soul, do harm unto it. A person engaged in psychomoralitic enters into a soul-deep process that is not only contradistinct to the mental health profession, but the very antidote to the iatrogenic harm caused by that profession.
NON-DSM: DSM disciplines and practices are those that follow the scientifically invalid, demonstrably iatrogenic, and intra-professionally repuditated Diagnostic & Statistical Manual (the Mental Health System’s clinical bible). As a staunchly NON-DSM discipline and practice, psychomoralitics does not utilize or employ in any shape, way, or form the DSM and/or Mental Health conceptualizations, nosology, terminology, or treatment.
Moral & Spiritual Intervention: All Imago Dei sessions in person or via media at Imago Dei Institute or with any of its practitioners fall under the auspices of moral mentoring and spiritual intervention/direction and thus are by definition and intent not engaged upon the practice of psychology, counseling, or any mental health fields that fall under the auspices of State licensure.
Disclaimer: As a matter of principle and practice psychomoralitics, et al., is contradistinct from the mental health field and therefore does not study, treat, or engage in any aspect or element of the mental health professions as defined by Federal or State Statute. All therapants involved in the psychomoralitic process are asked to not only assent to this disclaimer, but to recognize and value the contradistinct and diametrically opposed nature and practice of the psychomoralitic process from that of the mental health professions.
Records & Standards of Strict Confidentiality: As per the sacrosanct nature of the psychomoralitic process Imago Dei Institute and all of its certified practitioners maintain the very highest degree of confidentiality. Session notes are not formally kept, and those notes that may be kept are only done so on a temporary basis.
Refusal of Hostile Agency: The hallmark of Imago Dei Institute's integrity and uncompromising concern for its therapants is its repudiation and forgoing of any form of State Occupational licensure`or control that goes beyond civil and criminal law. Imago Dei practitioners in following the very highest of ethical standards and morality will never act as agents of the State nor breach confidentiality (both of which are mandatory requirements of State licensure) and will always put the good of their therapants first and foremost. While non-Imago Dei and licensed practitioners can gain certification in psychomoralitics, the use of such certification requires an ethical pledge to ultimately surrender such licensing if attempts are made by the State to coercively force the practitioner to breach confidentiality or perform any other action that puts the good of the State or other adverse parties above that of the practitioner's therapant.
